There was much relief across the board as Friends of Anchor were finally able to host their first in-person fundraising event after a long 2-year hiatus, welcoming many of the fantastic businesses across the North-East to the 19th year of their Gala Golf tournament. With our MD, Bob, in attendance, he was the proud representative of the whole Minto team.
As an evening sponsor, we were delighted to play our part and help with the fundraising efforts, all of which went towards Friends of Anchors biggest ever appeal: their ANCHORED Together project. Launched in 2019, the ANCHORED Together appeal is a commitment to raise money for the creation of The Anchor Centre; a new, purpose-built NHSG facility at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The first of its kind in Scotland, The Anchor Centre will be used by an estimated 250 patients every day, providing a much-needed base for care and support for oncology and haematology patients.
Whilst the day teed’ off at Peterculter Golf Club where organised teams featuring businesses and sponsors from across the North-East got to practice their swing, it was at the evenings Gala Dinner where everybody had the chance to connect and enjoy the night – and for Minto to get a chance to get the word out. As a souvenir sponsor, we were delighted to supply every guest with a top of the range, branded all-in-one charging cable, as well as having an advert printed out in the evening's programme. With plenty of great feedback across the board, it was a welcome opportunity to get our digital services out there. But the evening was all about coming together and supporting Friends of Anchor, and that’s exactly what was done…
Through the event, the sponsors, those in attendance, and the evening's raffles and auctions, an incredible £81,000 and counting was raised for the ANCHORED Together appeal and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of it. Here’s to many more fundraising opportunities in the future!
