Last year our Managing Director Bob Minto took part in a fundraising event to raise money for Men’s Mental Health and Prostate Cancer. This year we did it again.
In 2018 the level of male suicide rose by 17%. It’s more important than ever that we are there to talk and to support those who need help. Prostate Cancer is also a leading cause of death in the UK amongst men and the more we can do to assist research and treatment the better.
The Aberdeen ride took place on the 29th of September and 117 motorbike enthusiasts took to the streets of Aberdeen. We decided to adopt this charity for a number of reasons not least being that our MD Bob Minto has first-hand experience of the difficulties that Prostate Cancer brings to individuals and families alike.
Alongside the main fundraising effort our staff generated donations through a “Sell a Square” fundraiser and the summer saw the “Closest to The Pin” competition at our Minto 50th Golf Outing.
We raised £4,776!
We couldn’t have done any of this without the support of our clients. Many of whom were more than generous with their own donations. Our staff too went above and beyond to make sure that we raised as much as possible. The result meant that Bob’s fundraising efforts placed him 45th in the world out of 115,982 riders. Not bad.
Donations are now closed but let us know if you’d like to get involved next year!
In the meantime, take a look at this great video of the event.
