What is Corporate Social Responsibility?

As a business it’s more important than ever to focus on what matters to your customers. While your bottom line will always be important, many companies focus exclusively on their corporate social responsibility as a way of driving their brand values.

Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR is a phrase that encapsulates all the ways a business decides to reinvest in something wider than its own interests. Its ethical, moral and environmental responsibilities. While not every company can focus on these things alone, it’s important to start investing in value led future.

If you invest in the causes and issues that matter most to you and if your company can show that it operates in a forward-thinking way. Your customers will respond. For example, in the US 87% of people said they would purchase from a company because it advocated an issue they cared about.

Not only does CSR help you and your employees feel like they are doing something important, but it’s good for business.

Our Efforts

This year Minto raised £4776 for Prostate Cancer and Men’s Mental Health through the Movember Foundation and the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Our MD Bob Minto is passionately involved in supporting these causes and it’s been rewarding to be able to say that we are helping people. The response from clients, friends and family was incredible. It showed the power of community.

We also continue to support our friend Thomas at The Rubbish Club in small ways with additional print work when he needs to spread his message a little further. We feel it’s our responsibility as a business to help encourage sustainability wherever we can. While we still have a lot of work to do ourselves, we’re constantly looking at new ways to improve our own output. Take a look at The Rubbish Club Facebook page to find out more about how Thomas is helping clean up our environment, one bag at a time.
